Our Vision and Values
Our school promotes an agreed set of values. These values underpin all that we do and incorporate traditional British values. We aim that by the time they leave Tubbenden all children will have a firm understanding that their own actions have an impact of on themselves, each other, the world around them and the community, and that their impact will be positive. To support this aim we have developed our ‘knighting’ system. All children who come to Tubbenden automatically become Squires (trainee knights). They strive to become Knights of Tubbenden, living up to the school values:
‘To REACH happiness and Success’
Respectful
Excellent
Adventurous
Curious
Honest
The values are then broken down into what each of the values looks like at the different knighthood stages: Bronze, Silver, Gold and then Platinum.

Platinum knights are very special. They are self-motivational, enthusiastic and strive to achieve all the knighthood values of their very best. They demonstrate humility, hopefulness and actively try to bring about positive change in the community. This award can be nominated by any member of staff who has evidence that the above statement has been met alongside the knighthood values being met to the best of the child’s ability. It is a rare award to be given out but we do work with the children to demonstrate the behaviours that could trigger a nomination.
